The FX market is different from other markets in other unique ways. Traders who think that the EUR/USD might spiral downward can short the pair at will. There is no uptick rule in FX as there is in stocks. There are also no limits on the size of your position (as there are in futures). Thus, in theory, a trader could sell $100 billion worth of currency if they have sufficient capital.
Systems that derive risk-based margin requirements deliver adequate assessments of the risk for complex derivative portfolios under small/moderate move scenarios. Such systems are less comprehensive when considering large moves in the price of the underlying stock or future. We have enhanced the basic exchange margin models with algorithms that consider the portfolio impact of larger moves up 30% (or even higher for extremely volatile stocks). This 'Extreme Margin Model' may increase the margin requirement for portfolios with net short options positions, and is particularly sensitive to short positions in far out-of-the-money options.
The Odin Forex Robot uses an advanced grid trading strategy to find high probability entry points in the market, targeting reversals and trends to catch big moves for a good amount of pips. Odin Forex Robot will open, manage and close trades for you, just make sure that you keep an eye on it to see how the performance is going. The Odin Forex Robot developer does share performance statistics on the official Odin Forex Robot website which are very impressive over the long term although I would like to see these results verified by myfxbook or FX Blue for extra peace of mind. Odin Forex Robot includes a broker shield feature in an attempt to avoid unsuitable broker conditions. It comes with set files for 20 popular forex currency pairs although I would personally prefer to trade the major pairs such as the EURUSD & GBPUSD as they tend to have the lowest spreads and lowest slippage due to the amount of liquidity, they have most of the time. Odin Forex Robot also uses a tight stop loss and take profits whilst locking in profits.
I have been using the Piphiker forex robot for almost 3 months and I am really impressed, more than 200% profit. I work long hours during the week so I don’t have time to trade , the forex robot is ideal for me , as long as one is not greedy by over leveraging and you are patient and let the EA do it’s thing, you will find yourself with a lot of profit
At first glance, this ad-hoc arrangement is bewildering to investors who are used to structured exchanges such as the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) or the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). However, this arrangement works in practice. Self-regulation provides effective control over the market because participants in FX must both compete and cooperate. Additionally, reputable retail FX dealers in the United States become members of the National Futures Association (NFA), and by doing so, FX dealers agree to bind arbitration in the event of any dispute. Therefore, it is critical that any retail customer who contemplates trading currencies does so only through an NFA member firm.
Type of forex trading account the forex robot is trading on – thus telling you if the forex robot listed within the table of results has a demo trading account statement or real trading account statement. Demo forex trading accounts can give different result to real forex trading accounts because of factors such as different broker spreads and brokers slippage. Usually the liquidity on a demo account would be artificial and thus the trades will usually be executed faster, this can also mean smaller spreads on demo accounts. However, demo accounts can still give a good idea on what to expect from a forex robots performance. It is usually recommended to use a true ECN forex broker with plenty of liquidity to ensure low spreads, low slippage and thus the best possible forex robot trading conditions. This can save you trading costs and improve trading performance.
Forex margin is a good faith deposit that a trader puts up as collateral to initiate a trade. Essentially, it is the minimum amount that a trader needs in the trading account to open a new position. This is usually communicated as a percentage of the notional value (trade size) of the forex trade. The difference between the deposit and the full value of the trade is “borrowed” from the broker.

How can you avoid this unanticipated surprise? Margin calls can be effectively avoided by carefully monitoring your account balance on a regular basis, and by using stop-loss orders on every position to minimise the risk. Another smart action to consider is to implement risk management within your trading. By managing your the potential risks effectively, you will be more aware of them, and you should also be able to anticipate them and potentially avoid them altogether.
We also apply a concentrated margining requirement to Margin accounts. An account's two largest positions and their underlying derivatives will be re-valued using the worst case scenario within a +/- 30% scanning range. The remaining positions will be re-valued based upon a move of +/-5%. If the concentrated margining requirement exceeds that of the standard rules based margin required, then the newly calculated concentrated margin requirement will be applied to the account.
This article will address several questions pertaining to Margin within Forex trading, such as: What is Margin? What is free margin in Forex?' and What is Margin level in Forex? Every broker has differing margin requirements and offers different things to traders, so it's good to understand how this works first, before you choose a broker and begin trading with a margin.
I post this to let you know, as the title mentions it, that I made a trading diary, with google documents tool. This a generic spreadsheet which allows any trader to manage his trading (his risk, his pnl, his opened position, the orders...) with a trding diary. Every trader, should have one, and I mad mine with google docs. At least you must have an account to acces this spreadsheet.

Inflation Rates: Countries with inflation rates that are lower than other countries experience increased currency values. These increases mean that the purchasing power has also increased. The country that previously spent $1 million for 10,000 units of a foreign product is now able to purchase 18,000 units with the same $1 million, or $750,000 for the same 10,000 units. High inflation rates mean that there will likely be depreciation in the value of the currency.
The currency exchange rate is the rate at which one currency can be exchanged for another. It is always quoted in pairs like the EUR/USD (the Euro and the US Dollar). Exchange rates fluctuate based on economic factors like inflation, industrial production and geopolitical events. These factors will influence whether you buy or sell a currency pair.
With OANDA we are free to choose the number of units traded (and thus the exposure generated). Since I have a sterling (GBP) based account and I am trading GBP/USD for this example, the exposure will always equal the number of units. This is currently "hardcoded" into the system below. When I create multiple currency pair options, I will modify the exposure calculation to take into account differing base currencies.
Trading on margin can be a profitable Forex strategy, but it is important to understand all the possible risks. You should make sure you know how your margin account operates, and be sure to read the margin agreement between you and your selected broker. If there is anything you are unclear about in your agreement, ask questions and make sure everything is clear.
At this point, we're now carrying out our practice trading! As I've stated before in the previous entry, it is very easy to lose money with a system like this hooked up to a live trading account! Make sure to view the disclaimer in the post as well as be extremely careful with your own Strategy objects. I highly recommend trying this on the sandbox or practice accounts prior to a live implementation.

Retail or beginning traders often trade currency in micro lots, because one pip in a micro lot represents only a 10-cent move in the price. This makes losses easier to manage if a trade doesn't produce the intended results. In a mini lot, one pip equals $1 and that same one pip in a standard lot equals $10. Some currencies move as much as 100 pips or more in a single trading session making the potential losses to the small investor much more manageable by trading in micro or mini lots.
After writing the last entry, I realised that I really wanted a way to be able to backtest forex strategies in much the same manner as I had demonstrated previously with equities via the event-driven backtester. I wanted there to be as minimal a difference between the live trading environment and the backtesting system. Hence I decided that I needed to build a Portfolio component that would reflect (as much as possible) the current state of the trading account as given by OANDA.
There is one unpleasant fact for you to take into consideration about the margin call Forex. You might not even receive the margin call before your positions are liquidated. If the money in your account falls under the margin requirements, your broker will close some or all positions, as we have specified earlier in this article. This can actually help prevent your account from falling into a negative balance.
